The Calvin Community Symphony is delighted to present its spring concert! Highlighting three beloved composers, this concert will feature pieces rich with storytelling. The Overture to Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdi is filled with exciting themes from the opera known to have put Verdi on the map. Old American Songs by the iconic Aaron Copland will delight and move you, featuring baritone soloist Scott Bosscher. Finally, the concert will feature Beethoven’s celebrated Symphony No. 6, the “Pastoral” symphony. Listeners will take a journey to the countryside to listen to birds, weather a storm, and be immersed in nature. Join your Calvin Community Symphony, directed by Scott VandenBerg, and welcome spring with this free concert, celebrating the art of musical storytelling. The Calvin Community Symphony exists to nurture a lifelong love of music in the West Michigan community. CCS concerts are general admission and free to attend. There will be an opportunity to make a tax-deductible donation to support the symphony. Your patronage is greatly appreciated by the musicians and all who enjoy the music.
