Position Summary:
The Off-Campus Study Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing Hope College’s mission to foster global engagement by promoting and supporting domestic and international off-campus study opportunities. This full-time position focuses on student recruitment, strategic marketing, and coordination of off-campus study initiatives in collaboration with the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) team.
The Off-Campus Study Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing Hope College’s mission to foster global engagement by promoting and supporting domestic and international off-campus study opportunities. This full-time position focuses on student recruitment, strategic marketing, and coordination of off-campus study initiatives in collaboration with the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively contribute as a member of the Off-Campus Study team within the Center for Global Engagement.
- Lead marketing efforts for off-campus programs, including the creation and coordination of print materials, social media content, and strategic outreach campaigns.
- Build and sustain strong working relationships with third-party program providers and offices across campus.
- Manage the Off-Campus Study Blog, including recruiting and training student bloggers and overseeing content approval.
- Serve as a liaison to academic departments to promote integration of off-campus study opportunities into students’ academic planning.
- Coordinate and present at recruitment events in collaboration with the Admissions Office (e.g., Junior Days, Anchor Days, Senior Admitted Day).
- Plan and execute Off-Campus Study Fairs.
- Support the delivery of off-campus and international education orientations, programs, fairs, and presentations.
- Contribute to the production and publication of materials such as SCAPE (off-campus magazine), the Off-Campus Study Photo Contest, and Off-Campus Study Calendar.
- Facilitate the Global Ambassador Program, providing leadership development opportunities for student returnees.
- Maintain and update program information, brochures, and itineraries within the Terra Dotta software system.
- Coordinate campus visits and schedules of host partner institutions and program providers.
- Implement effective promotion and outreach strategies for off-campus study, with particular emphasis on targeting traditionally underrepresented populations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; experience in global education or program coordination strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated cross-cultural experience; preference given to candidates who have completed a semester or academic year off-campus during their undergraduate studies.
- Fluency in a second language is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator); ability to create visually engaging promotional materials.
- Strong creative skills and an eye for design to support marketing and outreach efforts.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be a team player.
- Deliver clear, engaging, and professional presentations to diverse audiences, effectively promoting global experiences and off-campus study opportunities.
- Prior experience in international education, program management, or marketing/design.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Knowledge of and experience with social media platforms, content creation tools, and online engagement strategies.
- Comfort with technology, including familiarity with content management systems (e.g., Terra Dotta).
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team while also functioning independently.
- Commitment to the Christian faith and the mission of Hope College, with sensitivity to working in a faith-based liberal arts context.
Physical Demands
This position requires remaining in a sitting or standing position for frequent periods of time; uses office machinery such as a computers, printers, copy machines; Occasionally involves moving items over 10 pounds; frequently will move between different offices/workspaces/buildings; and requires effective communication abilities.
