Job Description

The Institutional Research Analyst is responsible for conducting comprehensive data analysis to support college decision-making and reporting. The Research Analyst will submit federal, state, and other external reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency of college data. The Institutional Research Analyst is directly supervised by the Director of Assessment and Accreditation and collaborates with multiple campus partners to compile, analyze, disseminate, and present accurate college institutional data.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Needs & Reporting
  • Identify internal and external data requirements.
  • Proactively provide institutional data and survey results through regularly updated self-service reports, and summaries.
Website & Data Dissemination
  • Manage and maintain a website that will be the college’s primary source of essential and official information, ensuring data is accessible, accurate, and up-to-date.
External Reporting
  • Prepare, coordinate, and submit federal, state, and other external reports in collaboration with relevant campus offices.
  • Manage the college’s response to national statistical surveys, questionnaires, and other external requests for information.
Data Requests, Studies, & Presentations
  • Maintain organized systems to track data requests and ongoing institutional research projects.
  • Conduct benchmarking and peer-institution studies, analyze findings and present results to the campus community.
  • Complete required annual trainings, including CITI Training for Human Subjects or the refresher course
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’’s degree in social sciences, mathematics/statistics, or other discipline relevant to the position
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working in a higher education institutional research setting
  • Experience with survey administration to students, staff, and faculty, including coordinating surveys with outside vendors such as NSSE, ETS, and HERI
  • Experience and advanced skills in data analysis and associated computer software such as SPSS, Qualtrics, and Tableau
  • Experience accessing data through both a data warehouse and an Enterprise Resource Planning system; Banner experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to write concise analytical reports and present data to specific campus constituencies
  • Ability and willingness to work in coordination with faculty, undergraduate research assistants, professional staff in the Frost Center for Data and Research, and data stewards across college functional areas

This position requires remaining in a sitting or standing position for frequent periods of time; uses office machinery such as a computers, printers, copy machines; Occasionally involves moving items over 10 pounds; frequently will move between different offices/workspaces/buildings; and requires effective communication abilities.
