The Maintenance II – D will repair equipment during downtime situations, perform routine maintenance on equipment at scheduled intervals, and repair serviceable components offline.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Answer production downtime calls in a timely manner with a focus on positive internal customer service.
- Develop and expand skills and knowledge by learning from and working with more experienced maintenance team members.
- Troubleshoot faulty equipment to root cause and make quality repairs.
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on equipment, while documenting work in Maintenance Management System.
- Assist in the installation, modification, and relocation of equipment.
- Record repairs of faulty equipment.
- Keep accurate inventory records.
- Other duties as assigned.

WHAT TO BRING
- High school diploma or GED.
- Active participation in the Gentex sponsored Apprenticeship Program or 3+ years manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Understanding and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Standard Timing Model mechanical assessment score equal to or greater than 40%.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Meet the Following Physical Demands:
- High level of hand dexterity/coordination
- Ability to stand, remain stationary, and/or move about for 8 hours.
- Ability to ascend ladders and traverse multiple building floors and areas.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Bending, reaching, squatting, or otherwise positioning body around equipment of varying heights
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
WHAT WILL HELP
- Experience working with CAD software.
- Experience working with PLC programming.
- Experience with inventory management systems
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical prints
