Location: Davenport University, Grand Rapids, WA (Lettinga Campus)

Reports To: Vice President of Facilities

Salary: $90,000 - $95,000 (actual salary will be determined by experience and education)

Overview: Davenport University is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director of Facility Operations to lead the maintenance and operations of our facilities, and grounds across all campuses. This pivotal role requires a strategic leader who can manage both internal teams, and external partners to ensure our facilities are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee Facilities Management Operations, including budget management for maintenance and transportation.
• Develop and manage contracts with vendors and suppliers in accordance with University Procurement policies.
• Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Establish and implement best practices for facility services including maintenance, janitorial, and landscaping.
• Evolve and optimize Facilities Management Systems, including Work Order Systems and Building Automation.
• Develop a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for critical building support equipment.
• Lead project management for all Capital Maintenance Projects, ensuring successful scope, budget, and timeline execution.
• Coordinate space planning initiatives and conduct regular site audits to monitor performance metrics.
• Train and develop staff on standard operating procedures and industry best practices.
• Uphold regulatory compliance and demonstrate a commitment to exceptional customer service.
• Promote the University's cultural values and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field, and 7 years of relevant facilities management experience.
• Proven ability to work effectively with diverse groups and promote a positive work environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Motivational leadership and problem-solving skills, grounded in integrity and a commitment to the University's mission.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn specialized systems as necessary.
• Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Willingness to travel between campus locations, with reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Industry certifications such as Certified Facilities Manager (CFM), Professional Engineer (PE), or Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Experience in environments with 24/7 operations.
